Alouette is a traditional and very popular French Canadian song. It’s also really popular in France and Belgium.

It’s about a kid who wants to pluck a skylark and tells it what part of its body he’s going to attack.

It’s a cumulative song : each time the same expression is repeated and the different parts of the body accumulate. Each verse is built on top of the previous verse.
